Added a 6Ē angel or maybe butterfly fish to the nano today if for no other reason than to say I have a fish in the tank now or make the equipment table look a bit better for my wife.

Top down clam shot. It had no color when I got the Deresa but has colored up nicely under the AI prime since.

Not much to report. Replaced the milk jug with acrylic dosing reservoir. Tracking daily water evaporation rate along the blue tap.

Was able to hookup a NET module to my RKL and view data inside the on my laptop via asus n300 access point installed by tank. See pic.

However I was unable to setup NDNS and port forwarding to reach from outside house. Still working on it.

Finally got my router DDNS and port forwarding so I can access NET module from outside network. Had to abandon no-ip dot com and use asus built in service thx get it to work for some reason.

Picked up some local montipora digitata (forest fire and watermelon) plus three pajama cardinals to give the tank a little motion.

Still dosing two part every morning but should have three channel dosing pump soon!

Looks great so far!
Love the fact you're attempting sps at this scale.
Can you talk about what went into choosing the ai prime led?

hey Spartan thanks for the kind words regarding this comeback into reefkeeping after several years of absence.

I'm working really hard to keep salinity, alk stable for the SPS and we'll see how long I can keep it up.

I didn't know anything about current trends in LED lighting, starting looking at other nano tanks and googling pendents then came across the prime.

The Prime had everything I was looking for : has nice puck shape especially with gooseneck mount, mobile phone app config including individual led levels and schedule. As far coverage/spread it is perfect for 10 gallon cube tank with very few dark spots. If I had a rectangular tank it probably won't work by items and would need two. It's an awesome light especially if you get one used from a buddy!

I can't comment on SPS growth/color as my tank is too new. Hoping to see some color develop over the next 6 months.

Latest update. Was able to successfully upgrade to RKE without issues. Did so so I can add more modules like master/slave doses pumps.

Replaced ReefGlass with generic cup skimmer because RG would either skim on wet side leading to drift in salinity or dry and clog the drain. The generic air stone driven skimmer with cup can skim dry with no problems.

Next project is to add dosing pump to dose 2-part.

PS some sad news I lost my little 1.5Ē clam. I think it is due to conch that kept knocking it over no matter where I put it but dunno. There were no burrowing snails at the base.

Are you testing nitrate and Po4?

Yes once a month I test nitrate, phosphate (all undetectable) and calcium. I weekly test salinity and alk. I do weekly water changes of one gallon - 10%. Salinity has been very stable at 1.025, alk still varies around 8.0. Still working on dialing two part in.

Separately i wasnít getting much coralline algae until I read a report that said you wonít of your white spectrum is too intense which mine was. I donít really like scraping coralline algae of the glass and pumps but it is a good indicator of stable tank so each week i lowered just the white spectrum on the lights and now Iíve got coralline algae growing all over the tank. Iíve also noticed that zooamthinds looks better too. So far SPS appear unchanged.

10G JBJ Cubey build out

Seven days of Ďdryí skimming. Still a bit wet but definitely pulling out the organics.

Thx a definite work in progress.

The tank stand holds mostly electronics with supplies in the cabinet in the right. Originally I wasnít going to add any mods nor have wires and tubes about and that has been a complete failure. 8^). In order to host colorful SPS in a tiny volume you know you need stability, good water quality and flow. I automated as much as possible and still clean filters, collection cups and perform weekly water changes - and love it. I didnt think Iíd miss the daily tinkering or even maintenance tasks but i did and glad Iím back.

Why weekly small water changes?

Attached are two pictures of what the bottom and MP10s look like after one week. Itís hard to take pics of the debris in the sump and diatom/algae growth but itís there.

I take the time each week to clean all the pumps, siphon the sump, clean glass rinse the filter and chaeto and of course change out 1 gallon - the water is never clear.

For those with technical bent : here is alk drift with daily two part automated dosing:

3/4 - 9.6 alk
3/6 - 9.3 alk
3/10 - 8.9 alk

I think my alk is stable enough but but might adjust dosage a bit. I do add teaspoon of magnesium weekly.

Sometimes I think Iíve lost my paired gobie and shrimp cuz I wonít see them for days then on a feeding day they pop out together to make a meal of some mysis. Beautiful pair but only get to see them every once and awhile.

Yesterday my Xenia deflated (crashed?) see pic. I checked alk=8.6, sg=1.0255 so alk a little low but not traumatically so. Other corals are fine with great polyp extension.

Any suggestions other than water change?

Just tried brief iodine dip to see if that makes any difference

Cool tank! You have quite a bit of technology there for a 10g.
